Business magnate Leston Mulli has said the 30th African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) Annual Conference underway in Accra, Ghana, presents great opportunities for local entrepreneurs to learn from the best moguls on the continent.
Mulli, who is attending the meeting as special guest for Afreximbank President Benedict Orama, said the meeting has attracted Africa’s finest business captains to share experiences and exchange notes on how they could strike partnerships.
He said such gatherings open up opportunities for Malawi and other African governments to develop their entrepreneurs, which would help propel the growth of local economies.
According to Mulli, with the coming of the African Continental Free Trade Area, Malawi cannot afford to be left behind.
“Afreximbank wants all countries to support the African Continental Free Trade Area by having businesses that are playing an active role in the promotion of continental trade.

“Afreximbank wants to make more than 50 Aliko Dangotes on the continent, including Malawian businesses,” Mulli said.
He observed that since the meeting started on Sunday, he has been able to interact and learn a lot from the likes of Dangote and other prominent businesspersons on the continent such as McDan Group founder, Daniel McKorley, Samiah Nkrumah and others.
“This gathering is amazing and one of its best with high-profile participation from all 54 African countries and both government and business people, not forgetting Caribbean countries,” he said.
President Lazarus Chakwera is also attending the meetings.
