Members of Parliament (MPs) from the opposition benches have asked the government, through Finance Minister Joseph Mwanamvekha, to ensure transparency in the utilisation of $130 million (approximately K228 billion) worth of grants following the passing of two bills in Parliament Wednesday.
The bills are Bill Number 7 of 2026—International Development Association (IDA) for Transforming High-potential Resilient Value Chains (Thrive) Project (Authorisation and Ratification)—and Bill Number 8 of 2026, namely IDA for the Governance to Enable Service Delivery (GESD) Project 2 (Authorisation and Ratification).
