Former meteorologist Olive Chavungama Thursday told the Parliamentary Ad Hoc Committee investigating the Chikangawa plane crash that weather conditions on June 10, 2024 were overcast, with drizzle, fog and low clouds, locally known as Chiperoni or Mwera conditions.
Chavungama said the conditions reduced visibility on the day the Malawi Defence Force aircraft carrying then vice-president Saulos Chilima and eight others crashed in Chikangawa Forest.
