Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (Macra) hosted a sports day which attracted players from the communication sector at Lilongwe Golf Club on Saturday.
Macra Director General Daudi Suleman said the event was meant to promote good health and unity among communication sector employees.
“The event was a success as we had a huge turnout. It was a good platform for interaction and networking. We thank all companies that took part in the event,’’ he said.
Suleman said Macra will continue to organise the event.
“We want this to be taking place every year. We remain committed to promoting the well-being of all workers in the communication sector,’’ he said.

The games attracted employees from Macra, Times Group, Malawi Posts Corporation, Malawi Telecommunications Limited, Telekom Networks Malawi and Airtel Malawi, among others.
Malawi Posts Corporation employee Zikubwerera Washon hailed Macra for organising the event.
“I am very happy with this initiative. This was a good opportunity for workers from the communication sector to interact and share ideas,’’ Washon said.
At the day-long event, employees from the communication sector competed in football, tug-of-war, netball, basketball, volleyball, bawo, pool, athletics and tennis.

At the end of the games, winners received trophies and medals.
