Miss University Malawi beauty queen and former Miss Culture Malawi first princess Mwasalipa Mfune is expected to take part in the Miss University Africa slated for next month in Nigeria.
Mfune said yesterday that she was excited with the opportunity to represent Malawi at the prestigious beauty pageant.
“It is an honour to showcase the beauty, culture, and intellect of Malawi on such a grand platform. I plan on bringing my A-game to this pageant, combining poise, keen intellect, and grace, while embodying the very essence of what Malawi stands for such as love, peace, and joy,” Mfune, who is a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science graduate from Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (Luanar), said.
She said she was committed to represent Malawi with authenticity and pride and that she was looking forward to connecting with fellow contestants and promoting unity and understanding among nations through this experience.

Lush Africa Chief Executive Officer Lorraine Kljajic said the objective of the foundation is to put Malawi on the map through participation in the beauty pageants.
“Mwasalipa is our former Miss Culture Malawi first Princess. As a founder of Lush Africa, I am glad that international pageants are approaching us to have more Malawian women at these international events,” Kljajic said.
Miss University Africa President Taylor Nazzal said out of 55 countries in Africa, 52 are participating in the competition.
“The countries that are not participating this are not able to do so due to the war situation in their countries which makes it impossible to fly the delegates out,” he said.
