The Malawi National Women’s Football Team, the Scorchers, are in line for a multi-million kwacha windfall following fresh pledges made during a luncheon hosted at State House—Kamuzu Palace—in Lilongwe on Thursday.
This follows the Scorchers’ showing at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (Wafcon) finals in Morocco where the team finished second and qualified for the 2027 World Cup in Brazil.
