In a move that is aimed at elevating films in the country and also bringing about quality work, some film productions in the country have joined forces with Cinemix Club.
Filmmaker Isaac Misoya, who spearheads Gosm Films and recently premiered a movie titled Is The President Dead? said Cinemix Club is a film college group dedicated to elevating both the quality and quantity of filmmaking.
Misoya said facing the challenge of a demand for more local content in the film industry, film productions decided to unite and work together.
Apart from Gosm Films, some of the film productions involved are Satellite Entertainment, Film on Light, Community Lighting, DNK Films, Bright Makina Films and Iplus Play Africa.
“This is a serious project where we want to increase productions through colleges,” Misoya said.

He said Iplus Play Africa serves as a platform for streaming the movies globally, allowing viewers worldwide to subscribe and watch content.
“This initiative not only benefits students and production teams but also provides an avenue for earning revenue from these films,” Misoya said.
He said that progress has been made in establishing clubs within educational institutions such as Malawi College of Health Sciences, Malawi College of Accountancy, University of Malawi and Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences.
“The film clubs at Malawi College of Health Sciences and Malawi College of Accountancy are now operational, with preparations at an advanced stage,” Misoya said.
