FDH Bank Premiership defending champions Mighty Wanderers will be looking to bounce back quickly as they face newcomers Luanar Mitundu FC at Dedza Stadium at Dedza Stadium this afternoon.
The Nomads plunged into the battle against Mitundu straight from their 2-1 loss to FCB Nyasa Big Bullets in the Blantyre derby at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe last week.
It was their first defeat of the season after playing two matches in the 2026 campaign.
This afternoon’s match presents them an opportunity to bounce back and make an early statement in the title race.
Currently, the Nomads trail surprise package of the season Masters FC by six points but the latter has played three matches.

A loss or a draw for Wanderers, in today’s match, will be a setback.
Wanderers and Mitundu are meeting for the first time in domestic football but there are some familiar faces between the two teams.
Mitundu have former Wanderers coach Oscar Kaunda and striker Vincent Nyangulu, who knows them inside and out.
However, there is a big gulf in terms of class and quality between the two sides. The Nomads have assembled a star-studded squad that won the title last season after one loss to relegated Mzuzu City Hammers.

Mitundu, on the other hand, finished second in the NBS Bank National Division League (NDL) behind Red Lions.

Wanderers assistant coach MacDonald Mtetemera said his charges will bounce back quickly.
“We have rectified our mistakes and we expect a much-improved performance against Mitundu. We are the defending champions so we have to show that we are a big team,” Mtetemera said.
The Nomads will be without midfielder Gaddie Chirwa due to suspension after he was sent off during the 2-1 loss to Bullets.
Defence pillar Alex Kambilinya is also doubtful after he picked up an injury during the same match.
On his part, Kaunda said his troops are not intimidated playing against the defending champions.
“It is a difficult game for us but the players are determined to prove their worth,” Kaunda said.
The rookies go into the match after a 2-0 loss to fellow newcomers Masters.
Mitundu have four points from three matches after a 1-1 draw with Mafco before beating Kamuzu Barracks.
Elsewhere, Creck Sporting Club will host Kamuzu Barracks at Aubrey Dimba Stadium in Mchinji District whereas Chitipa United will face Civil Service United.
Ekhaya will be looking for their first win as they host Moyale Barracks at Mpira Stadium this afternoon,
