Mighty Mukuru Wanderers Head Coach Nsanzurwimo Ramadhan has asked for three new signings after his charges were held to a 1-1 draw by Kamuzu Barracks in their 2024 TNM Super League opening match at Kamuzu Stadium on Sunday.
Ramadhan made the recommendations soon after he earlier blamed his troops for failing to contain the pressure of playing 24 hours after rivals FCB Nyasa Big Bullets were held to a goalless draw by Dedza Dynamos.
“Another thing I can say is that I think to play this catch-up game is another problem we have because Bullets played yesterday [Saturday] and we are playing today [Sunday]. Those catch-ups will give you a lot of pressure. I think we could not control the pressure. Next, we need to control the pressure of the game,” Ramadhan said.
Ramadhan also faulted his charges for following Kamuzu Barracks’ long and aerial balls instead of playing an attacking and passing game.
However, the former Bullets mentor, who has had stints in Tanzania and South Africa, promised to continue polishing his charges to make Wanderers mighty again after they last won the league in 2017.

Meanwhile, Ramadhan feels three additional players will help transform the side.
“I need a striker number 9 [nine], number 10 and I also need number six [midfielder] to do the work in the midfield to mount a serious challenge,” he said.
However, former Wanderers midfielder Sherry Msuku has differed with the coach on why the team failed to grab maximum points against the Malawi Defence Force-sponsored side.
“Wanderers have a lot of problems which need fixing. After conceding, they played under pressure. They resorted to route one football wanting to get a winning goal, which put them under immense pressure.

“Most of the players in the team lack Wanderers’ DNA. They cannot fight for positions and I did not see any improvement, in terms of play, when we compare with the same team under Mark Harrison’s era,” Msuku said.
Wanderers scored first through Christopher Kumwembe in the 32nd minute before Zeliat Nkhoma equalised in the 72nd minute.
