Musician and producer Praise Umali said Tuesday he was looking forward to run-through the skills he has learnt in the Netherlands to contribute to the growth of the industry in the country.
Umali, a former member of Zathu Band, is back in the country having been in the Netherlands for close to two months for a summer music course in music production where he had the opportunity to work with other producers and artists in the country.
“It was a good opportunity for me to learn more as a producer. We had this course at Wisseloord Studios which is one of the biggest studios in Western Europe,” he said.
Umali said, as creatives, they need such opportunities to grow and also be at par with the world.
“We are doing well but we need to keep learning,” he said.

Meanwhile, the artist, who has an album titled September to his credit, has lined up gigs later this month, starting off at Stakeout at Amaryllis Hotel in Blantyre on September 22 and then Cocoa August House in Area 10 in Lilongwe on September 23.
“This is going to be different because it will be an experience for people who will attend and they will also get to have a feel of my new album,” Umali said.
