Lilongwe-based musician Praise Umali, famed for tracks such as ‘Ku Tiyeni’, said Sunday he was short of words with the support that people gave him during the Before April concert at Sunbird Mount Soche Hotel in Blantyre on Friday night.
The singer and guitarist said the show sold out.
“I am grateful for the support and I am happy that they enjoyed every moment,” Umali said.
He also thanked Nathaniel Chaluchalu and Teddy Makadi, who were curtainraisers, for delivering what he described as “classic” routines as well as surprise acts Onesimus, Eli Njuchi and Classick.
His manager Stanley Chiyora described the Before April show as a success.

“We had a great turnout and the performances were super. Our supporting acts Teddy Makadi and Nathaniel Chaluchalu were amazing and surprise acts Onesimus, Classick and Eli Njuchi added flavour,” Chiyora said.
He said the Before April show was used as a platform for Umali to launch his second album titled What We Become.
“We want to go on a countrywide tour with the album but we will announce the details when the plans are ripe,” Chiyora said.
