In the spirit of Easter for Christians across the world whose climax was the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ Sunday, gospel musician Thoko Suya on Good Friday treated people to a dosage of her music during Easter Praise concert at Times Entertainment Studios in Blantyre.
On a day when Christians observed the crucifixion of Jesus and his death at Calvary ahead of the resurrection, the concert attracted an impressive audience that enjoyed Suya’s gospel tunes and sang along to most of them.
Hosted by Times Television presenter Stevie Wazisomo Muliya, who is also a gospel musician, the concert, which was beamed live on Times Television, lived up to its billing and kept patrons on their toes and some could not hold back but showcase their dance moves.
Some of the songs that she dished out on the night spoke volumes of the trials and tribulations that Jesus Christ went through in order to save mankind.
Dressed gorgeously in an evening outfit, Suya offered a number of songs, some taken from her Hymns assortment in her first set before taking a short break, with her hubby Bishop Blessings Suya serving a short sermon, and also caming back to offer a benediction close to the end of the concert.

The gospel musician then came back for her second set in a different outfit and continued from where she left off.
“It has been an amazing night, coming together to praise God. I am excited that people came out tonight and then others followed us on Times360 Facebook page and Times Television,” the ‘Ndimamukonda’ maker said.
She said the Easter Praise concert meant a lot to her and Christians and that it was important to remember the love that Jesus Christ gave people on the cross of Calvary.
“It is important for us to realise that God loves us and that is why He sent His only begotten son, Jesus Christ, to die for us. This season should make all of us reflect on our life, repent and live a holy life,” she said.
