Malawi National Women’s Football Team Captain Tabitha Chawinga has joined top French Ligue 1 side PSG’s ladies team on a season-long loan deal from Chinese giants Wuhan Jiangda University.
PSG Feminines officially unveiled Tabitha at their base in the French capital, Paris, on Wednesday afternoon.
In a brief writeup on her Facebook page, the former DD Sunshine superstar simply said: “It is now official…! PSG Feminines is the new home, bon apres midi (good afternoon).’’
This is the second consecutive time for the red-hot Scorchers striker to be shipped out to another club on loan by her parent club, having spent a season at Italian side Inter Milan Women, where she scored 23 goals in 21 matches to win the golden boot award.
After her Italy adventure, Tabitha returned to China but her days in the Asian nation were numbered as several European clubs were knocking at the door.

One of such clubs was Italian Serie A Women champions AS Roma.
Tabitha has been on PSG’s radar for a long time and was linked with the club even before joining Inter Women last season.
She is a direct replacement for top goal scorer Kadi Diani, who left the club at the end of last season.
National Women’s Football Association Chairperson Adelaide Migogo said Tabitha will meet PSG’s expectations in France.

’’Tabitha is a star and I am very happy that she is at a big club in France. She is a player with all the qualities to shine for PSG. This is great for Malawi women’s football,’’ Migogo said.
PSG are third on the table with three points from one match, just behind leaders Lyon on goal difference.
Tabitha wrote her own piece of history when she became the first African female player to win the golden boot award in Italy.
She made it to Europe after outstanding performances for Lilongwe-based Sunshine in 2014.
While in Europe, she continued scoring for fun to win golden boot awards in her debut seasons with three different clubs.
She won her first award in Sweden while playing for third-tier side Krokom/ Dvassatts with 38 goals and repeated the feat when she moved to China where she scored 17 goals for Jiang Sunning, seven goals better than Nigerian superstar Asisat Oshoala, who now plays for Spanish giants Barcelona’s ladies side.
