Silver Strikers will leave for Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, this afternoon for the 2025-26 Caf Champions League second preliminary round match against Young African (Yanga) Sports Club this coming Saturday.
The Central Bankers have an advantage going into the match, having won 1-0 at Bingu National Stadium last week.
Silver Chief Executive Officer Patrick Chimimba said the team will depart Lilongwe for Tanzania at 4pm today.
“All is set for the trip to Tanzania. We are happy that we have the full squad after playing [a] midweek match,” Chimimba said.
Silver defeated Creck Sporting Club 2-1 in the TNM Super League at Silver Stadium on Tuesday.

Yanga, on the other hand, arrived in Tanzania on Monday night.
Meanwhile, Yanga have announced free entry for fans ahead of the Caf Champions League decider at Benjamin Nkapa Stadium this coming Saturday.
Yanga Media Officer Ally Kwame told Sports 247 that the decision came after requests from supporters.
“Our management listened to the fans’ call. This is their chance to be our 12th man,” he is quoted as saying.

This means several fans are expected to watch the crucial match.
Chimimba said his charges would not be intimidated with the huge crowd.
“We have several experienced players in the squad. Most of our players have been in similar situations before,” Chimimba said.
Pressure is on Yanga as they need to win the match by a 2-0 margin to automatically progress to the group stage of Africa’s elite club competition.
Silver, on the other hand, will progress to the group stage for the first time with a draw.
