TNM Super League side Silver Strikers has spent about K40 million in bolstering its squad for the 2024 season.
The Central Bankers, who finished the 2023 season empty-handed, have been the busiest team in the ongoing transfer window.
They have signed goalkeeper George Chigooka from Chitipa United, defender MacDonald Lameck and striker Christopher Gototo (both from Blue Eagles), midfielder Paul Kansungwi, Dedza Dynamos midfielder Charles Chipala and striker Binwell Katinji of Civil Service United.
Silver Chief Executive Officer Patrick Chimimba said they set aside that amount to ensure that they sign all players that the technical panel recommended.
However, Chimimba fell short of disclosing how much they paid for each of the players they signed.

“What you should know is that we have signed all the players which the technical panel recommended. But we might sign one or two more players depending on the needs of the technical panel after the friendly matches the team is playing,’’ Chimimba said.
Silver have also promoted Innocent Mtonga and Eustice Mwale from their reserve side.
The newcomers have replaced players such as striker George Chaomba, Hardy Ng’andu, Philip Banda, Tathedwa Willard, China Chirwa and Charles Chisale—who the Bankers released.
Other giants such as FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Mighty Mukuru Wanderers have also been busy on the transfer market in preparation for the 2024 season.

Bullets have signed goalkeeper Innocent Nyasulu, midfielder Lloyd Aaron and Nigerian striker Babatunde Adepoju.
Nyasulu joined on an undisclosed fee whereas Aaron cost Bullets about K10 million.
The People’s Team is also assessing Zimbabweans Ronald Chitiyo and Collin Mujuru.
Wanderers have beefed up with Blessings Singini, Clement Nyondo, Chimwemwe Nkhoma and Timothy Silwimba on undisclosed transfer fees.
Civo have also signed Blessings Juma, Rahman John, Mphatso Magaleta, Emmanuel Saviel and Foster Bitoni.
Former Malawi National Football Team and Wanderers attacker Sherry Msuku said the giants have done good business on the transfer market.
“One can only hope that the new players will settle down quickly at their respective teams. Once that happens, we should expect to watch good football this season as teams will be very competitive,” Msuku said.
It is expected that clubs across the country will continue to sign players as the domestic player transfer window is expected to close on March 30.
