Comedian Che Mandota has said that he will continue to bring quality work to his artistry and at the same time use it to tackle various issues affecting society in order to bring about change.
The Lilongwe-based comedian real name Jamil Sharif Chikakuda has raised his bar in the comic world by using his own style coupled with his use of the Yao language to tackle different issues.
His comedy antics have since earned him awards and other recognitions with the latest seeing him being decorated with a YouTube Silver Play Button award.
He said that the award has come as an encouragement.

“This award means more and it has enriched my CV. This means I am going the right direction as far as creating content is concerned. This is not for Che Mandota alone but it is for Malawi,” the comedian said.
He said the award is also an encouragement to other creative in the country to not give up but strive to bring out the best.
“I have been doing comedy for years now and I never imagined that I would get to this where YouTube would recognise me with this award. This just tells creatives in the country that we can do it and that we have potential,” Che Mandota said.
The artist also called upon people in the country to continue supporting the creative industry.

“We can only grow and make a living out of art when we get the much needed support. Let them access our work and at the same time pay for it,” he said.
