Silver Strikers have extended contracts for defender Innocent Shema and midfielder Chinsinsi Maonga.
Maonga has extended his contract by three years until December 2028, while Shema will remain at the club until December 2027.
Silver Chief Executive Officer Patrick Chimimba said the two players had been rewarded with new contracts following their impressive performances this season.
“We are happy that the two players have signed new contracts. The technical panel informed us that they are in their plans,” Chimimba said.
The two players were integral to Silver as they finished third in the 2025 TNM Super League and also won the 2025 Pachema FDH Bank Cup.

Shema and Maonga also helped Silver win the 2024 TNM Super League title. However, both players were not readily available for comment yesterday.
Both Shema and Maonga are products of Silver Reserve. The duo was promoted to the senior team in 2020 following impressive performances with the reserve side.
Meanwhile, Silver have parted ways with midfielder Duncan Nyoni following the expiry of his contract. Nyoni played for Silver for eight years after joining the club from Civil Service United Reserve in 2016.
At Silver, Nyoni won the inaugural Airtel Top 8 in 2017 and again in 2019. He was also a key member of the team that won the TNM Super League in 2024.

However, he struggled for game time in 2025 due to injuries. Silver hailed the midfielder for his contribution to the club.
“Silver Strikers Company Limited is thankful for the services rendered to the club and wishes him all success in his future endeavours,” reads a statement on the club’s website.
At the peak of his career, Nyoni played for Tanzanian giants Simba SC for one season. His contract was terminated following poor performances in 2021 and he later returned to Silver.
