Malawian Paris Saint-Germain striker Tabitha Chawinga is on course to write another piece of history in the French Feminine League this season, having scored for PSG in the 3-1 victory over Montpellier HSC on Sunday.
This means she has cemented her chase for the golden boot award, having scored 15 goals, three more than Lyon striker Ada Hegerberg.
Her PSG teammate Grace Geroyo is third on the list with 11 goals.
If Tabitha wins the golden boot award in France, she will maintain her record of winning the accolade in her debut season in all the countries she has played since she moved to Europe in 2014.
However, in an interview from France Monday, Tabitha said she was not focusing much on personal glory.

“It will be good for me as a player but I put the team first. I want to help the team win trophies,’’ she said.
Last season, Tabitha made history as the first African female player to win the golden boot award after she scored 23 goals in 21 matches while on loan at Inter Milan in Italy.
Malawi Women’s National Football Team Coach Lovemore Fazili said he was impressed with the performance of all female players abroad.
“It is good that all the players are performing according to expectations. This is good for our football,’’ he said.

Tabitha’s sister Temwa is playing for Kansas City in the United States of America.
Apart from the two, other Malawian players abroad are Ireen Khumalo, Chimwemwe Madise, Sabina Thom and Vanesa Chikupira.
