Rapper Tay Grin popularly known as Nyau King and Zambia’s Queen of Media Mutale Mwanza thrived in hosting a Meet and Greet outing at Amaryllis Hotel in Blantyre on Friday night.
The two shaped the right vibe starting from the arrival of Mutale the previous day ahead of the Meet and Greet.
Tay Grin and Mutale Mwanza then got a boost of the event when they received an amount of K1.5 million from former head of state Bakili Muluzi after they paid him a visit.
Cometh the day of the Greet and Meet at Rooftop Splash at Amaryllis Hotel, the two delayed to hit the ground with the audience sampling an early performance from Nyago, who draws her music from the healing traditional dance of Vimbuza from the Northern Region.
Hosted by Miss Malawi Second Princess Roberta Kanjero and Super DT, who bagged an award at the Maso Awards the following day, the event had some dry moments before people were treated to more performances from Tuno, Bucci, Zani Challe and Patience Namadingo with Tay Grin performing last as the headliner.
Zani Challe famed for the track ‘Single Tonight’ showed liveliness with her dancers with Patience Namadingo attracting more attention.
Tay Grin’s entry with Mutale was epic and drew attraction as they were accompanied by dancers, who were playing with fire as well as Gule Wamkulu.
Dressed in an evening black jacket and a red mini- skirt that matched her shoes with Tay Grin in red shirt and white trouser, the two as Queen and King, went on to interact with the patrons that included fellow artists.
Tay Grin did not want to be left out on the performing table, as backed by DJ Flame on the decks, he starred last with his dancers breathing life to his performance no wonder he lured Mutale Mwanza to the dance floor with the track ‘Tcha’.
But it was when he served ‘So Mone’ which he collaborated with Zambia’s Yo Maps, which had the audience join him on the dance floor.
“I have fallen in love with Malawi. The people are friendly and it has been amazing throughout and all the artists performed well. As brands, me and Tay Grin, there is more to come, in fact, he will also be coming for Ngoma Awards in December in Zambia,” Mutale said.
Tay Grin said their bond is to among others intended at creating opportunities and uplift the creative industry in the two countries.
There was an after party at Stakeout Bar at the same venue after the Meet and Greet where Tay Grin was joined by fellow artists such as Lulu, Kell Kay, Patience Namadingo and Zani Challe.
The two also had another Meet and Greet at Epic Lounge in Lilongwe on Saturday.
