The second edition of the Theatre Renaissance Cabaret Festival will be held from July 31 to August 2, 2026 at Madsoc Theatre in Lilongwe.
Organisers have since opened up for participation, inviting theatre acts to be part of the theatre feast.
Festival Administration and Finance Director Hazel Musochera said yesterday that preparations for the second edition were in progress.
Musochera said the festival was there to strengthen the visibility of theatre in the country.
Festival Executive and Creative Director Stanley Mambo said the second edition was targeting small‑cast productions of at least one hour.

“We are inviting running small cast productions, of one hour plus duration, created for both young and adult audiences,” Mambo said.
The deadline for submissions is January 31, 2026.
The festival, led by Mwezi Arts, debuted last year featuring 18 creatives from 13 countries, including Tanzania, Kenya, Germany, Spain, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi and Nigeria.
