Malawi Women’s National Football Team captain Tabitha Chawinga continued her impressive form as she scored in the 5-0 win over AS Saint- Etienne to reach the semi-final of the French Women Division One Tournament on Saturday.

She scored in the 56th minute of the match and also provided two assists.

Grace Geroyo opened the scoring in the 18th minute before Marie Katoto doubled the lead for PSG.

Geroyo completed her brace in the 55th minute before Tabitha put the game beyond Etienne’s reach a minute later.

In an interview from France, Tabitha said she was excited with the victory.

“A goal and two assists to help my team is really amazing,” she said.

The goal came just a day after she was named French Feminine League Player of The Month for February.

It has been an incredible debut season for the Malawian in France.

The Malawian is the leading goal scorer in the French Feminine League with 13 goals, one above Ada Hegerberg.

In addition, she is leading the assists chart in the league with eight this season.

Tabitha also helped her side to reach the final of the Coupe de France when she scored a brace last week.

She is also top of the scorers’ chart with four goals in the tournament.

Tabitha has a very rich history of winning golden boot awards in her debut season in all the countries she has played abroad.

Last season, she became the first female African to win the Italian golden boot award when she scored 23 goals in 21 matches for Inter Milan Women.
