The national headcount poverty rate may have reduced from 50.7 percent to 47.3 percent but things are getting worse in urban areas, where the ultra-poverty rate has more-than-doubled from 3.3 percent to 8.1 percent between 2020 and 2025.
This is contained in the recently released Poverty and Inequality Report by the National Statistical Office (NSO).
