Most Volleyball Association of Malawi (Vam) aspirants are expected to go unopposed at the body’s annual general meeting at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe on Saturday, January 24, following the close of nominations.
Vam president James Kaunda will return unopposed, while Chisomo Ngulube and Simbani Banda have been nominated for First and Second Vice President respectively, also unopposed.
George Dickie Mbewe has been nominated as General Secretary alone, and Emmanuel Kafumbu as Treasurer.
The only contest is for two executive member positions, with Ronald Mwale, Mercy Shaba and Ellias Warrior Banda contesting. The campaign period closes on Friday, January 23.
Kaunda expressed gratitude for being nominated unopposed. “It shows that the affiliates trust me. They are impressed with our achievements and want me to complete the development agenda,” he said.
