A special parliamentary committee established to investigate the crash of a Malawi Defence Force (MDF) aircraft that killed former State vice-president Saulos Klaus Chilima and eight others Monday elected Nsanje Central legislator Walter Nyamilandu as chairperson.
The others who died in the plane accident, which occurred on June 10, 2024, are former first lady Patricia Shanil Dzimbiri, Lucas Kapheni, Chisomo Chimaneni, Dan Kanyemba, Abdul Lapukeni as well as Colonel Owen Sambalopa, Major Flora Selemani and Major Aidin, who are MDF personnel who were operating the plane
The committee has also appointed Dr James Mpunga as vice chairperson.
