Seasoned lawyer Wapona Kita has expressed his excitement about fulfilling his lifelong dream of being a board member of Mighty Wanderers FC.
Kita was reacting to his appointment as the club’s board member yesterday. He said it was a dream come true to serve in the board of his childhood club. “Wanderers has been a team of choice and have supported it since I was young and to be roped in as one of its board members is a great honour to me,” Kita said.
Kita said he would work with the rest of the members to help the team. “I am glad that I am joining a team of football administrators who are already doing well on the ground shown by the fact that we are currently on top of super league log table. I will work together with the rest of the board members to make sure that we maintain being the best football team in Malawi,” he said.
Wanderers Board Secretary Chancy Gondwe in a statement said Kita’s leadership would elevate the club’s governance, commercial strategy and long term development.
“Kita brings an exceptional blend of legal expertise and sports administration experience to the club. His deep understanding of governance and compliance will be invaluable as the club continues to strengthen its institutional framework. Beyond his legal acumen, Kita is recognised leader in sports administration,” reads the statement.
