Eleven elderly persons have been killed over witchcraft accusations during the first four months of this year, The Daily Times has learned.
This is contained in a Malawi Network of Older Persons Organisation (Manepo) report, with the organisation’s executive director Andrew Kavala lamenting the situation.
The 11 deaths follow 22 deaths of elderly persons that were recorded during the whole year of 2025.
