Two more places are up for grabs in the round-of-16 stage of the K13 million Champion Cup whose matches take place at Champion Stadium in Mponela, Dowa District.
The two slots are set to be filled this weekend as the competition’s round-of-32 stage comes to an end with two matches.
Saturday’s action will see Villa FC and Lumbadzi FC locking horns while Kamuzu Barracks and Mayamiko Stars face off on Sunday.
The four teams will be hoping to join MP Roma, Madisi United, Mighy Mukuru Wanderers Reserve, Chatoloma Admarc, Dzimbiri FC, Santhe Admarc, Leyman Panthers, Kamba FC, Baka City, Simbi FC, Kalonga Rovers, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve, Namitete Zitha and Silver Strikers Reserve, who already made it to the round-of-16 over the past weeks.
Champion Stadium Public Relations Officer Kondwani Kandiado said it is pleasing to see the round-of-32 ending with no incidents.

“It has been a long journey since we started the competition. We have seen teams from all the three regions of the country coming to our stadium to play in this competition. They have entertained lovers of the game and things can only get better.
“Last week, we officially opened our VIP stadium and everything is looking up. All the matches in this competition have been without incidents. This is what we have always wanted. Those who have been coming to patronise our matches can testify that there is a lot of talent in our regional teams,” Kandiado said.
