Three clubs, namely AS Roma, PSG Women and Arsenal, have emerged as potential destinations for Scorchers captain Tabitha Chawinga after impressive performances while on loan at Inter Milan Women last season.
The Malawian is back at her parent club Wuhan Jiangda and helped the club win the Chinese Football Association Cup recently.
Sources close to Tabitha confirmed that the three clubs have already submitted their offers to Wuhan over the possibility of signing the Scorchers striker.
“There are three offers on the table from Roma, PSG and Arsenal. Wuhan will decide if they will sell the player or not. But there is a possibility that discussions will be concluded by next week,’’ a reliable source said.
However, Tabitha’s manager Kuwala Msolomba could neither confirm nor deny the reports, saying the player belongs to Wuhan.

“Tabitha has a contract with Wuhan; so, we need to respect her club,” she said in a brief response.
Tabitha has been on the radar of PSG for a long time.
Before joining Inter Women on loan last season, she was also linked with the French club.
The French club also hinted at the possibility of signing the Malawian on its official website this week.

Tabitha has been earmarked to replace their top goal scorer Kadi Diani, who left the club as a free agent.
“PSG women will try to strengthen their attack even [though] finding a player of Dian’s calibre remains very difficult, even impossible. Perisian reveals Tabitha Chawinga’s case is not closed. But the Perisian management has to negotiate with Chawinga’s club, Wuhan. The name of Serie A’s top striker had been mentioned several weeks ago, also showing that the track is dragging. [The] Malawian player is the only player with PSG’s interest,’’ reported PSG Women website this week.
Tabitha has not spoken on her future after the expiry of the loan contract with Inter Women.
The Scorchers striker wrote her own piece of history when she won the Serie A golden boot award with 23 goals in 21 matches for Inter Women while on loan.
She is the first African female player to achieve that feat. Since she moved to Europe from Lilongwe’s DD Sunshine in 2014, Tabitha has had a good history of winning golden boot awards in her debut seasons with three different clubs.
She won the award in Sweden while playing for third-tier side Krokom/ Dvassatts with 38 goals.
She also did the same when she moved to China as she scored 17 goals for Jiang Sunning, seven goals above Nigerian Asisat Oshoala.
