The biannual Art in the Park comes to the fold with its ninth edition this coming weekend at Four Seasons in Lilongwe where 33 artists are expected to display their works.
Wildlife Environmental Society of Malawi (Wesm) Chairperson Nick Hall said they were looking forward to another exciting three-day fête that starts on Friday and ends on Sunday.
“Art in the Park has been growing over the years, reaching a total of 45 artists exhibiting their work at the last event in May. This time, we will have only 33 of just the most talented artists, all spaced out so that visitors have a less cluttered experience,” Hall said.
Samuel Ndalema, who has been trending on social media with scrap metal art, Myck Mtika and David Kelly are on the list of the 33 artists.
He said Art in the Park, running under the theme ‘Malawi’, is there to give people the gorgeousness of art.

“There are workshops at the event for all the family,” Hall said.
Some of the workshops art lovers are expected to experience include Sip and Paint by Kaliso Arts and Ceramic Painting by Tee Mlinga.
Veteran visual artist Nyangu Chodola, who has displayed his works at several Art in the Park editions, said Art in the Park has developed tremendously.
“We are moving in the right direction in terms of quality of artworks.
