Madalitso Band, the duo of Babatoni player Yobu Maligwa and acoustic guitar star Yosefe Kalekeni, is nearing their return home from their European tour as they now have only seven gigs remaining on their schedule.
The group will return home on September 24, 2024.
“It has been one show after another, but once again the band has raised Malawi’s flag wherever they have performed,” said the group’s tour manager, Neil Nayar.
He added that upon their return, they will stay for a few weeks before heading back to Europe on October 22, 2024 for a performance at Womex.
The group departed for their seventh European tour in July this year.

The band, hailing from the outskirts of Mtandire in Lilongwe, also performed at the MTN Bushfire Festival this year.
Apart from the United Kingdom, the group has starred in France, Germany and Italy.
Last year, the group also successfully represented Malawi on a world tour, starting in Europe before debuting in the United States, where they held over 20 gigs.
Madalitso Band has albums such as Fungo La Nyemba and Wasalala to their credit.
