Exhibitors and businesses at the just-ended Malawi International Trade Fair (MITF) have spoken highly of the event, rating it as essential for forming linkages with local and international peers.
Coffee, rice, locally-made shoes and eggs were among products that shone at the fair.
One of the exhibitors, Kingstone Kasuntha from Food Empire Limited, said the firm has built linkages with interested buyers from Ghana, Nigeria, Mozambique and Tanzania.
Another local exhibitor, Robert Saka of Feko Investments, said the event was essential, having established international markets.
But a foreign participant, Antonio Dinheiro from Mozambique, said more could be done to increase participation.

MCCCI Director Membership Development Wezi Mungoni rated the event as a success.
“It has achieved the intended purpose. We wanted businesses to form linkages, which has happened, and we will document that properly in coming weeks,” Mungoni said.
