Malawi Stock Exchange-listed FDH Bank has projected that its profit-after-tax for the year ending December 31, 2025 would range between K140 billion and K151 billion.
This represents a growth ranging from 92 to 104 percent from a K74.06 billion post-tax profit the bank made last year.
In a cautionary statement issued last Thursday, the bank, however, said the figures were yet to be reviewed or reported on by an external auditor.
But in an interview, FDH Bank Managing Director Noel Nkulichi said the estimated positive outturn was premised on robust growth in both public and private sector credit demand.
He said the bank also experienced sustained growth in customer deposits during the year, which supported the expansion of its earning asset base.

Year-to-date, according to Mkulichi, performance is materially higher than that recorded in the corresponding period in 2024.
He said, based on trends, the bank’s management expected the bank’s full-year 2025 performance to exceed that of 2024 by a margin of between 92 percent and 104 percent.
“This outlook reflects the bank’s continued commitment to growth, innovation and the delivery of competitive financial solutions to its customers,” he said.
Notwithstanding this positive performance, Mkulichi said the operating environment remained challenging, characterised by foreign exchange shortages and elevated inflationary pressures.

He said the bank had, however, implemented prudent strategies to mitigate these challenges and sustain profitability.
“Looking ahead to 2026, the bank remains cautiously optimistic and anticipates an improvement in business conditions, supported by expected policy interventions by the government aimed at strengthening economic activity and the financial sector. “FDH Bank plc will continue to align its strategy with national development priorities while supporting key sectors of the economy,” Mkulichi said.
