TNM Super League top four teams are currently in a fierce battle to secure the signature of Chitipa United striker Andrew Joseph.
The striker has been a revelation in his debut season for Chitipa this season. His performance has caught the attention of Mighty Wanderers, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, Silver Strikers and Ekhaya FC.
In an interview Wednesday, Chitipa Administration Manager Watson Kabaghe said the club had rejected bids for the striker from the four teams. “All the four teams offered below our asking price. We value the player at K17 million,” he said.
Kabaghe disclosed that both Wanderers and Ekhaya offered K12 million for the player whereas Silver tabled a bid of K10 million. He said Bullets’ bid for the player was K7.5milion.
“We are still discussing with the four clubs. But we can let the striker go at K17 million,” Kabaghe said.

Bullets Chief Executive Officer Albert Chigoga confirmed that Joseph was one of their prime targets in the mid-season transfer window.
“The technical panel informed us that they want to beef up the squad with a defender and striker. We will try to get what they want,” he said.
Wanderers Chief Executive Officer Panganeni Ndovi was not readily available for comment yesterday.
But sports analyst Henry Gome said the transfer fee was too high for the striker. “The fact that all the big teams in country are interested in the player has potential to make it big in the league. But the price is not realistic for the rookie,” he said.

The striker has scored just two goals in his debut season in the TNM Super League. But he has shown a lot of potential in the league.
