The Institute of People Management Malawi (IPMM) has called on human resources practitioners and workers to ensure professionalism in service delivery for firms to contribute towards the attainment of the Malawi 2063 aspirations.
IPMM President Goodwin Sam Ng’oma made the call recently during a Continuous Performance Development (CPD) training the institute hosted for its members in Zomba.
The workshop was aimed at equipping HR professionals with necessary skills as part of professional development.
“If we are to develop as a country, we need to have well trained HR professionals who will get the right people to come to the right job with the right skills at the right time,” Ng’oma said.
He said as the economy recovers from the pangs of the Covid pandemic, institutions should also position themselves to contribute towards stability and further growth.

Malawi Revenue Authority Head of Performance Management Angelline Kwanjana hailed the institute for organising the workshop which she rated as timely and informative.
“The training is more of being strategic. We would be strategic in terms of how we are performing.
“It is not about managing day to day performance only but also making sure that as one is managing performance, they are also ensuring that they are achieving their strategic goals,” she said.
The workshop brought together HR professionals from various institutions including Coca-Cola company, Churches Action Relief and Development, Malawi University of Science and Technology, Airport Development Limited and African Parks.
