Speaker of the National Assembly Sameer Suleman’s announcement last week that Parliament would conduct inquiries into several parastatals following public complaints has rattled both the Executive and the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).
In separate statements, both have reacted somewhat uncomfortably to the Speaker’s move, reminding him that his office is breaching the principle of separation of powers.
