All is set for the 2024 NBS Bank Charity Shield match between quadruple winners FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Silver Strikers at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe tomorrow.
In the build-up to the match, business came to a standstill in some streets of Lilongwe as the bank paraded the shield from Gateway Mall to Mtandire Township, with popular musician Zeze Kingston entertaining crowds along the way.
Thereafter, NBS Bank presented match uniforms to Bullets and Silver in readiness for the crunching tie.
NBS Bank acting Head of Marketing James Chikaonda said they are proud to be associated with football.
“Football is the most followed sport in the world and no one can dispute that. We are therefore expecting a huge crowd to watch this game. We also expect the two giants to give us a good game,” Chikaonda said.

The bank increased this year’s sponsorship to K40 million from last year’s K20 million.
Fam Marketing and Broadcasting Manager Tulipo Mwenelupembe said all logistics have been finalised for the season curtain-raiser.
“We are well prepared to get things started and everything is in place for the Charity Shield. We, therefore, urge all football fans to come in large numbers to watch this great game,” Mwenelupembe said.
Since the shield’s introduction in 2016, Bullets have won it a record six times.

Last year, the People’s Team beat bitter rivals Mighty Mukuru Wanderers 2-1 to lift it.
Silver Chief Executive Officer Patrick Chimimba said they are ready to end Bullets’ dominance.
“We have assembled a good squad and we are ready to compete and make a name for ourselves,” Chimimba said.
Bullets Supporters General Secretary Archibald Kasakula said his side will continue from where it left off last year.
“We are taking the game very seriously. Our burning desire is to successfully defend it,” Kasakula said.
