Archbishop Thomas Msusa of Blantyre Archdiocese has asked Christians to lead by example, saying it is unfortunate that sometimes prayerful people indulge in vices such as corruption.
He said where Christians, politicians inclusive, love one another, corruption and other ills cannot thrive in society.
Msusa said this at St Almando Parish in Neno District on Sunday, when Mission Sunday Day activities for Blantyre Archdiocese took place.
“As a God-fearing nation, let us change our way of living. God wants love but it is unfortunate that, these days, people are corrupt and indulging in all sorts of violence.
“There are many places where people are suffering but there some officials who receive funds and keep them in their pockets, which is not Good. So, my message is that Malawians have to be compassionate towards each other,” Msusa said.

World Mission Day is celebrated by the Catholic Church on October 22 with the aim of enhancing prayer life, spreading the gospel and mobilising financial support for the continuation of overseas missions and missionaries.
Blantyre Archdiocese Pontifical Missions Society Chairperson Anita Kaliu said the day gave them an opportunity to reflect on their lives and see how best to make the world a better place to live in.
