The High Court sitting in Lilongwe will tomorrow hear a judicial review case between the Malawi Electoral Commission (Mec) and President Peter Mutharika, with Attorney General (AG) Frank Mbeta asking the court to dismiss the electoral body’s application at the preliminary stage.
In Executive Order Number 1 of 2025, Mutharika directed Mec, the Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority, Malawi Housing Corporation, among others, to relocate to Blantyre.
However, Mec sought the courts’ recourse.
