Beach Eagles preserved their supremacy as they retained the K20 million HTD Beach Soccer Championship title after beating hosts Sunbird Nkopola 6-4 at Sunbird Nkopola on Sunday.
The tournament was played for two days.
In a match monitored on Football Association of Malawi (Fam) Facebook page, both teams displayed good football.
However, Eagles played with purpose and determination to retain the title.
Last year, they won the championship after beating Nyasa 10-3 at Sunbird Livingstonia in Salima District.

Speaking after the two-day event, Fam President Fleetwood Haiya said the tournament was a success.
“The level of competition has improved a lot. We believe that, with this level of competiveness, we are going to have a strong national beach soccer team. We will make sure that we take part in all competitions,” Haiya said.

On his part, HTD Director Zain Sidik said he was also impressed with the standard of play.
“Standards were better than last year. The tournament is about helping grassroots football. We also want to give players the platform to showcase their skills,” Sidik said.
Beach Soccer Association (BSA) President Gift Chimbalanga said the tournament lived up to its billing.
“It was a very exciting tournament. We are also happy with the turnout of patrons. The organisation of the tournament was top class,” he said.
The tournament attracted six teams who emerged as champions in their respective zones.
