An impressive audience showed up for the Nde’feyo Entertainment Legacy celebration show held at Club 24/7 in Blantyre, which spilled over to the early hours of Sunday.
It was a show that lived up to its billing and reminded fun lovers, dominated by young people, of the good old days of Nde’feyo Entertainment’s exploits led by Khumbo Kabuzi Munthali and Ken Zizwa Limwame, who are now in United States of America (USA).
The two were not present during the celebration that came barely a week after another event at Illusionz in Lilongwe.

Hosted by Blak Jak, the celebration left no stone unturned, giving the audience a rich line-up of artists that were once part of the Nde’feyo Entertainment’s label and it included Maskal, who is also based in USA, Onesimus and Piksy, who have soared as solo artists.
The fête also saw the presence of other artists and they included ‘Machenje’ star Black Nina, producer Sispence and Black Missionaries’ keyboardist and vocalist Chizondi Fumulani and lead vocalist Anjiru Fumulani.

Reggae dancehall musician Trumel was the first to hit the stage and with his quietness in recent times, his performance was timely and reminded people that he was still in his game and not out of his music shape.
Trumel, who also indicated that he was in the studio working on new songs, paved the way for Bucci, who started on a slow note but upped his tempo gradually before finishing on a high.
But it was the coming of Onesimus, popularly known as African Butter, that created huge excitement.
Performing live with a band, Onesimus started off with his old songs such as the romantic track ‘Ndamusowa’, which he released when he was trading under the name Armstrong.

He connected with the audience at will, with many singing along to his songs and at one time, he even invited some fans to the stage to show their dance antics.
The artist then went on to dish out other songs and they included ‘Panado’ and ‘ Mr Nobody’.
“We come a long way and big up to Nde’feyo Entertainment for holding this legacy show. This is why I decided to start with my old songs before getting to the recent songs. I would like to thank people for coming out tonight,” Onesimus, who recently released his Extended Playlist (EP) titled I am Strong, said.

It was equally the same with Piksy, who also started with old songs such as ‘Sendeza’ that he released alongside Nthumwi Nikodemo under the name of Atumwi before getting to other songs such as ‘Anana’, ‘Uncle Short One’, ‘Chonchobe’ and ‘Umakwana’.
“I am excited with what has happened. I have enjoyed every moment and we are thankful to Nde’feyo for bringing us together. It has been long,” Piksy, who has collaborated with Ritaa in the latest track titled ‘Sochera’, said.
Maskal closed the curtain for the show and although he dragged a bit in his opening, he kept up the rhythm and, backed by the likes of JJ Kusokwe, he had people singing along to his songs that included ‘Udalire’, ‘ Wa CV’, ‘Zili Ndi Iwe’ and ‘The Way You Are’.
“The support that people have given us during this show is massive and we do not take this for granted. This is my first time to perform here. There is more to come and people should just watch the space,” he said.
One of the people who patronised the show, Gresham Tembo, said he enjoyed every moment.
