Football Association of Malawi (Fam) and Football Legends Association (FLA) have established a joint working committee to easily implement contents of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) which the two bodies signed.
Fam First Vice President Christopher Kuyera, Ronald Chiwaula, Benjamin Kumwenda, Young Chimodzi, Anthony Msendema and Justin Saidi have been named in the committee.

The association’s competitions and communications director Gomezgani Zakazaka confirmed the development.
“The Joint Working Committee (JWC) constituted by representatives of parties as nominated by the parties shall be established pursuant to this agreement and shall function on an on-going basis.
“The JWC shall be constituted of six members, three from each party and the nominated members shall possess the relevant technical expertise and skills relevant to the scope of this agreement,” Zakazaka said.

Zakazaka said FLA would be the secretariat for the committee and that its functions would include managing and facilitating cooperation and consultation in respect of matters dealt with by each party.
“The JWC will also ensure the implementation of the agreement and propose, when necessary, any amendment of, or supplementation to, the agreement. The committee will also advise management of both parties on the areas of collaboration covered under this agreement,” Zakazaka said.
FLA Board Chairperson Jim Kalua said recent developments indicate that the partnership was destined for greatness.
“We signed a MoU with Fam and we were further required to come up with a Joint Working Committee composed of three members from each side.

“We are very excited as we believe in fulfilling all our objectives. It is a journey that we embarked on for a purpose,” Kalua said.
In September this year, Fam and FLA signed an MoU to build capacity and improve the welfare of football legends and former players in the country.
