Mighty Wanderers have unveiled plans to send their coaches for further training to remain a dominant force in the country and on the continent.
In the meantime, Wanderers Coach Bob Mpinganjira is expected to leave the country to undergo a special coaching programme in Scotland.
Wanderers President Thomson Mpinganjira disclosed the capacity building initiative during the team’s Presidential Ball awards gala at Golden Peacock Hotel in Blantyre on Sunday.
Mpinganjira said following the initiative Bob and his assistant MacDonald Nginde Mtetemera would send abroad for further studies to equip them with new knowledge on game tactics and management.

“Bob will leave this week for Scotland. He has already got the visa — he is going for a three-week attachment,” the Nomads sponsor said.

The Nomads President also said Mtetemera would travel to South Africa for another course but could not divulge more details as logistics for that trip were being finalized.
The two coaches were recently handed new contracts running until 2028, following a remarkable 2025 TNM Super League title triumph that ended an eight-year wait for the Blantyre giants.
Mpinganjira said he had no intention of replacing either man ahead of the Caf Champions League campaign.
“There are people who are football experts in Malawi, and after we won the league, they were saying we need to get a better coach because we may go into the Champions League— but I do not understand. The coach has made you win the league, then getting another coach does not make sense. “When a new coach comes, it can take a whole season before the team starts coming together to play as a unit. We are not going to do that. What we need to do is upgrade our coaches,” he said.

Local football analyst Dan Chemisi Makiyi while applauding Mpinganjira for the gesture wondered why the coaches were being sent to different countries.
“I would have loved to see them going to train at one club instead of going separate ways because they work together as a panel but all in all it is still a good development,” he said.
