Mighty Wanderers have received a major boost as striker Sama Thierry Tanjong is available for selection after recovering from an ankle injury.
The Cameroonian striker missed the early stages of the season following the injury he sustained in the 2025 NBS Bank Charity Shield match against Silver Strikers at Bingu National Stadium on March 29, 2025.
But the gangling forward was introduced as a second-half substitute as Wanderers beat Creck Sporting Club 1-0 in a friendly match at Aubrey Dimba on Sunday.

Wanderers Chief Executive Officer Panganeni Ndovi said the Cameroonian has recovered and is available for selection.
“It is good news that he is back. The technical panel has a lot of options upfront now,” Ndovi said.

This could be a big boost for Wanderers coach Bob Mpinganjira as they face Kamuzu Barracks at Champion Ground this Saturday.
Despite Sama’s absence, Wanderers have made an impressive start to the 2025 TNM Super League, sitting second on the 16-team log table with 16 points from six matches, two points behind leaders FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, who have played a game more.
Sama will compete for places with in-form Blessings Mwalilino, Promise Kamwendo, Clement Nyondo and Gaddie Chirwa.
Mwalilino and Kamwendo have each scored three goals in the TNM Super League this season. Nyondo has scored one goal in the league this season.

Sama joined Wanderers at the start of the 2024 season on a two-year contract. He scored the winner as Wanderers clinched the 2024 Ibongetse Castel Challenge Cup following a 1-0 victory over Mzuzu City Hammers in December last year.
Captain and defender Lawrence Chaziya and midfielder Mphatso Kamanga are still out due to injuries.
