Ethno Malawi has sent Cynthia Duma and Asante Maulidi to Ethno Flanders in Belgium.
Maulidi (drummer) and Duma (guitarist) left the country over the weekend for Ethno Flanders where they will participate for two weeks.
Their participation at Ethno Flanders comes barely three weeks after Ethno Malawi also sent two representatives Sangwani Ngulube and Khumbo Mkandawire to Ethno Spain.
Music Crossroads Malawi Director Mathews Mfune said Thursday that Ethno Malawi will continue being vibrant in sending representatives to Ethnos.

“Ethno Malawi is now the gateway to international exposure and collaboration for the up-and-coming Malawian musicians,” Mfune said.
He said they will also continue to promote their own Malawian culture and identity through traditional music and dance.
“We are getting more people asking about Music Crossroads and Malawi music. This is a great platform to push our Malawian music agenda.
“We are also working on Ethno USA, Uganda and Zimbabwe. We should be able to send our reps to all these. We hope this will improve how our youths view traditional music and we hope they are getting inspired from the world to promote our traditional music heritage and propel our identity,” Mfune said.

Duma, who is also a model and dancer, said she was looking forward to sharing more about Malawi in terms of music and dance at Ethno Flanders.
“We, as artists, need such platforms not only to share but also to learn and sell Malawi to the world,” she said.
Apart from sending representatives to different Ethnos, Ethno Malawi this year had a chance of receiving the Ethno Stone which went on a tour of Ethnos across the world.
Ethno Malawi has in the past years also sent representatives to Ethno Sweden (Gift Banda, Jerusha Chipingo and Chisomo Makunje) and Ethno Croatia (Phalyce Kumdana and Tendai Chazima).
In another development, the body of youthful musician Tremour, who died last Sunday due to injuries sustained in a motorbike accident, was laid to rest at Area 18 Cemetery in Lilongwe yesterday.
Scores of people, including Minister of Youth and Sports Uchizi Mkandawire and artists, attended the funeral ceremony at Dzenza Mission Ground to pay their last respects and thereafter the burial ceremony.
Musicians Union of Malawi (Mum) President Vita Chirwa expressed sadness at the loss of Tremour, who he described as a promising artist.
“His songs were just beginning to touch hearts of many people in the country. He looked poised to reach further heights with his music but, sadly, we have lost him,” Chirwa said.
Born on September 26 1996, the creator of ‘Mpanipani’, real name Victor Mwangobola came from Mzokoto, Traditional Authority Chikulamayembe, in Rumphi.
