TNM Super League defending champions FCB Nyasa Big Bullets have a score to settle when they host Chitipa United in a TNM Super League match at Kamuzu Stadium Saturday afternoon.

The title race has reached an exciting stage as there are few games to wind up the season.

It looks like the title is for Bullets to lose this season as they have three matches in hand against their fellow title contenders Mighty Mukuru Wanderers, Silver Strikers and Chitipa.

However, Wanderers, Silver and Chitipa will pray that Bullets drop more points in the remaining matches.

This afternoon’s match is a perfect opportunity for Bullets to open a three-point gap at the summit of the log table whereas Chitipa have a chance to move to third position.

Bullets returned to the top of the 16-member log table after beating Moyale Barracks 3-2 at Rumphi Stadium on Tuesday

They have 47 points from 22 matches, and are above Wanderers on goal-difference.

However, Wanderers have played three more games and they will face Dedza Dynamos Salima Sugar at Dedza Stadium Sunday.

In this afternoon’s match, Bullets will be seeking revenge after they lost the first leg fixture 1-0 at Karonga Stadium.

Chitipa are gunning for a back-to-back win against Bullets.

This is an important match for both teams.

Bullets are coming straight from a 3-2 victory over Moyale at Rumphi Stadium whereas Chitipa drew 2-2 against Blue Eagles at Karonga Ground.

However, Chitipa have failed to transform their first round form into the second round.

On the other hand, Bullets have also been inconsistent this season. But they have managed to get positive results in difficult matches especially at Kamuzu Stadium.

After beating Moyale, Bullets Coach Kalisto Pasuwa said all the remaining matches are vital in their chase for the title.

“We need to concentrate on each game as it comes. We will keep on fighting our own battles and we will not concentrate on the other team’s camp,” Pasuwa said.

Bullets will be without four players namely Mike Mkwate, Ernest Petro, Alick Lungu and Kesten Simbi due to injuries.

However, Pasuwa has several options including Patrick Mwaungulu, Hassan Kajoke, Maxwell Gasten and Clyde Senaji.

Chitipa Coach Macdonald Mtetemera believes his charges can claim a double over Bullets in the league this season.

“We will make life difficult for them. All we want is three points. We are here for a purpose and we will do it,” Mtetemera said.

Chitipa will be without Gedo Lorenzo due to yellow cards suspension but Mtetemera has several players who can do the job for him.

Ramadhan Mtafu, George Chikooka and China Chirwa are available for selection in today’s match.

In another match, Extreme and Red Lions will face each other at Balaka Stadium.

Both Red Lions and Extreme are destined for relegation this season.

The soldiers are second from bottom with 22 points from 26 matches whereas Extreme anchor the log table with 18 points from the same number of matches.
