TNM Super League defending champions FCB Nyasa Big Bullets have blown a golden chance to extend their lead at the top of the log table after they drew 0-0 with Blue Eagles at Nankhaka Stadium Sunday.
This is Bullets’ third consecutive draw in the TNM Super League, having drawn against Mighty Mukuru Wanderers and Red Lions by 1-1 margins.
However, the draw means Bullets have opened a two-point gap between them and second-placed Wanderers.
At this stage, Bullets have 56 points, two above Wanderers, but the People’s Team has a match in hand, having played 27.
This means the title race is for Bullets to lose.

They need five points from the remaining three matches to retain the title for the fifth consecutive season and 17th title overall.
However, Silver Strikers have slim hopes as they are third with 53 points from 28 matches.
Bullets remain with two away matches against Dedza Dynamos Salima Sugar and Karonga United before hosting Silver Strikers at Kamuzu Stadium whereas Wanderers will date Mighty Tigers at home and Civil Service United away.
On the part of Silver, they will face Kamuzu Barracks and Bullets.

However, if results in the last three matches are anything to go by, Bullets need to pull up their socks to win the title.
Against Eagles, they showed some signs of fatigue for the better part of the match.
It was a match of high intensity as both teams were looking for a win but missed chances.
Tonic Viyuyi had the best chance for Eagles after the break but he shot straight into the palms of goalkeeper Richard Chimbamba.
Two minutes later, Eagles substitute Christopher Gototo’s attempt missed the goal post by a whisker. Chimbamba nearly gifted Eagles a goal when he failed to handle Micium Mhone’s powerful shot at the first attempt.
Sensing danger, Bullets upped their game towards the end of the match.
Substitute Stanley Billiat could have won the match for Bullets but Eagles’ goalkeeper John Soko was equal to the task.
Precious Sambani’s powerful volley went wide in stoppage time.
Mhone was voted man-of-the-match.
After the match, Eagles Coach Eliya Kananji said the draw was not a true reflection of the match.
“We dominated the match and players worked hard throughout the match,” Kananji said.
The draw means Eagles are on position eight with 35 points, at par with ninth placed Dedza Dynamos.
On his part, Bullets Coach Kalisto Pasuwa said the draw was a setback.
“We have played more matches and fatigue is taking a toll on the players. We cannot play football every three days but, again, we have injuries,” Pasuwa said.
