Singer and guitarist John Ndaferankhande better known as John Fire has crafted a new track titled ‘Ona Mwana Wa Nkhosa’, which has seen him collaborating with Frank Chimpanzi of the ‘Bwerani’ fame.
John Fire, who hosts Mangolongondo Night alongside other artists such as musician Annemarie Quinn and contemporary dancer Robert Magasa, said yesterday that he was excited to have worked with Chimpanzi in the new song.
He described the track which drops Thursday as apt resonating well with the Easter season.
“Frank Chimpanzi is one of the most authentic and seasoned Christian worship artists with a sublime vocal prowess and so, I am happy to connect with him through this song,” John Fire said.
With three albums to his acclaim namely Wondilenga, Emmanuelle and Nkumano, the artist said the song is targeting Easter with an aim of reminding “all of us” of the true meaning of the season.

“It is a time to reflect on what Jesus the Lamb of God has done,” the ‘Wondilenga’ maker, said.
Chimpanzi said it was a joy for him to work with John Fire adding that he does a unique kind of music.
“I love the ethnicity of it. It helps one relate with the African roots. Nowadays many artists want to copy everything from outside but I am glad that we have artists like John Fire reminding people that Malawi has something great to be admired for,” he said.
Chimpanzi said ‘Ona Mwana Wa Nkhosa’ is a beautiful Easter song that points everyone to Jesus Christ, “who gives us eternal life”.
