FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Silver Strikers progressed to the 2025 Pachema FDH Bank Cup round-of-16 following victories in their respective matches Sunday.
Bullets thrashed Chilumba Barracks 5-0 at Chitipa Stadium whereas Silver earned a hard fought 1-0 victory over Mighty Tigers at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.
Nigerian striker Babatunde Adepoju scored a haul, with the other goal coming from Chawanangwa Gumbo.
The result has put Babatunde in an early race for the golden boot award.

Bullets are the only side to have won the cup twice since its inception in 2021 and their reward for going through will be an encounter against the winner between Becks Academy and The Boys.

Bullets coach Peter Mponda praised his players’ performance.
“It was a good performance from the players and they deserved the win. I am happy that we dominated the match,” Mponda said.
Chilumba coach Nelson Chirwa said his charges lost concentration.
“We started the game well but relaxed later. So Bullets took advantage and punished us,” Chirwa said.

At Kamuzu Stadium, Charles Chipala scored the winner in the 78th minute as Silver progressed.
It was a tight contest but Chipala made the difference when he scored from a Macdonald Lameck cross.
Silver coach Peter Mgangira said his charges were not at their best.
“It was not a difficult game. We made life difficult for ourselves. Most of the players did not come to the party,” he said.
Tigers coach Leo Mpulula was disappointed with the loss.
“It was a good game but we lacked firepower upfront,” he said.
Silver will face either Jenda United or FC Shire.
In another match, the cup’s defending champions Blue Eagles kept their title defence alive after surviving a scare from Songwe Border United.
Eagles progressed 5-4 on post-match penalties after a goalless draw in regulation time.
The cops will meet either Zingwangwa United or M’mbelwa Warriors in the round-of-16.
Elsewhere, Creck Sporting Club also booked a place in the round after beating Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos 1-0 at Dedza Stadium yesterday, courtesy of Patrick Mupanzi’s goal.
At Champion Stadium, Kamuzu Barracks also earned a spot following a 3-1 win over Thondwe United.
In an all-Northern Region affair, Mzuzu City Hammers eliminated Baka City 7-6 on post-match penalties after a 1-1 stalemate in regulation time at Rumphi Stadium.
