FCB Nyasa Bullets displaced Silver Strikers on the summit of the TNM Super League after walloping Blue Eagles 3-0 at Kamuzu Stadium Sunday.
Bullets are now level on points with The Bankers on 25 points apiece but the Peoples Team lead on goal difference as they are on 18 against Silver’s 15.
Yamikani Fodya, Hassan Kajoke and Ephraim Kondowe scored for Bullets.
Fodya opened the scoring barely five minutes into the match when his direct freekick, just outside the box, proved too good for Eagles’ goal custodian John Soko.

Despite the lead, Bullets played second fiddle to Eagles, whose matchmaker Richard Rabson was unstoppable on the left wing.
Bullets missing the services of some key players, who are with the national team at the Cosafa tournament in South Africa, featured a changed side as the team struggled to keep possession.
However, Eagles, despite creating several scoring chances, failed to capitalise on the Bullets’ dismal showing in the first half.
In the second half, both teams made several substitutions but it was The People’s Team that seemed to have benefitted as they improved their passing game to put Eagles at bay.

Kajoke increased Bullets’ lead in the 62nd minute after running past Eagles’ defence before firing past Soko.
In the 78th minute, Kondowe, who had just been introduced into the game, brought joy into the Bullets family when his first contact with the ball resulted into a goal.
The win was a morale booster to Bullets, who were winless in three assignments after drawing in all the games.
However, it was another bad outing for the Area 30 police side who have been displaced from seventh position to eighth on the log table with 15 points from 12 games.
Last week, Eagles also went down 1-0 to Ekwendeni Hammers in Mzuzu.
Eagles Assistant Coach Christopher Sibale blamed the defeat on officiation.
“All was well until the referee decided to side with Bullets and all the decisions were against us. However, we will go back to our training and work on the weak areas,” Sibale said.
Bullets Coach Kalisto Pasuwa said winning the match was a relief for them after missing some key players.
“We lost so many balls in the first half. But I am happy that the team recovered from that poor performance,” Pasuwa said.
In other matches played Sunday, Karonga United defeated Dedza Dynamos Salima Sugar 2-1 while Civil Service United and Ekwendeni Hammers played out to a goalless draw.
On Saturday, Chitipa United defeated Kamuzu Barracks 1-0 while Bangwe All Stars beat Moyale Barracks 1-0.
Red Lions beat Mighty Tigers 1-0.
