Malawians are bracing for tougher economic times following sharp fuel price hikes and a directive by the Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (Mera) for the Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (Escom) to adjust electricity tariffs.
The moves are anticipated to push up the cost of living and doing business.
